The Diploma in Basic Supervisory Development is a 9-day seminar designed for new and /or established frontline supervisors and managers to help build and refine their supervisory, communication and leadership skills. The seminars discuss functions, responsibilities, and challenges involved with this critical aspect of management. Participants will have the opportunity to complete the Myers Briggs type Indicator (MBTI), which provides valuable feedback and insights into an individual’s personality, leadership and communication style. In the fast paced economic reality of today, understanding ourselves, and those with whom we interact ensures a win-win outcome for all. Participants will also learn technique for business process improvement – what to look for and what doesn’t impact the bottom line, and how to manage improvements through project management skills/tools.

Who Should Attend?


Anyone new to supervision/management or those who wish to further develop their supervisory/managerial skills.

While each workshop is a “stand alone” module resulting in a certificate, all 3 modules of the program are mandatory for the Diploma in Basic Supervisory Development and must be taken in order.

Level 1

Professional Supervisor is a 3-day seminar for those who wish to increase their effectiveness in this important role, how to capitalize on it, the competencies required to succeed, communication/influencing strategies and how to give and receive feedback to improve performance.

Level 2

Managing Employee Performance is a 3-day seminar designed to help participants gain a better understanding of themselves through the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Participants learn how to develop their team building, problem solving, decision-making and performance management skills based on the MBTI during this seminar.

Level 3

Business Process Improvement and Managing Projects – during this 3-day seminar, participants learn the basic 8 elements of managing projects and tools/.techniques that ensure success on any sized project. In the volatile marketplace of today, organizations are constantly looking for a competitive edge. Frontline supervisors and managers are key to improving the systems/processes that provide most of the outputs customers want. This seminar provides participants with the tools/techniques for identifying and managing improvement opportunities. Participants develop the framework of their own hands on projects which they are expected to complete on return to their work place.
