Diploma in Advanced Supervisory & Managerial Development is a four level, 8-day program designed specifically for frontline supervisors and managers that goes beyond the basics covered in the Diploma in Supervisory Development. With organizations much “leaner and meaner” than ever before, more pressure is now placed on supervisors and managers to go beyond their traditional areas of expertise. Supervisors and managers of today must be ability to lead, to understand how to successfully manage people, what is involved with the employee relations of performance measurement and the ability to positively support change in their organization.

While each workshop is a “stand alone” level, all modules of the program are mandatory workshops for the Diploma in Advanced Supervisory & Managerial Development. This course does not have to be taken in order.

Level One:

Leading and Communicating in Today’s Organization, is a two-day workshop that explores organizational leadership, through building a shared vision and determining strategic priorities. Participants identify techniques for group effectiveness that enables ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Level Two:

Coaching and Mentoring Teams is a two-day workshop for any manager who wants to gain maximum performance from their staff, on both an individual and a team level. Participants will explore the skills, techniques, methods and logistics of coaching/mentoring and learn how to help others unlock their natural ability and remove internal barriers to achievement.

Level Three:

Managing Employee Relations and Performance Management is a two-day program that examines factors for increasing employee performance using tools such as mutual gains bargaining, how to \"adjust\" poor attitudes with the aim of recognizing performance levels, how to set standards, measure to ensure increased employee and departmental productivity levels.

Level Four:

Managing Change and Understanding Business Ethics is a two day workshop that moves beyond the basics of change to motivate stakeholders, to envision what the organization could be, and to identify best practices for connecting the dots. Participants will explore the basic principles of business ethics and how to live up to high moral conduct in a changing world.

In addition, participants are encouraged to follow-up the workshop by organizing a site visit to the workplace of one of their new colleagues, for the purpose of benchmarking and gaining new insights into the world of work.
